A Golden Triangle Trip

The Golden triangle is one of the most explored tourist routes in India. It covers the tourist destinations of Jaipur, Delhi, and Agra. These are three major tourist destinations and have a plethora of attractions to be visited. Here is a Golden triangle tour plan to help you visit the places without missing any major attractions. 6 days are the ideal trip duration and gives ample amount of time to explore this route and will give you enough time to soak up the fun and culture of each place.

Day 1: Starting in Delhi

Start from Delhi and drop your belongings off to your chosen hotel and get ready to explore. The culturally alive city has many heritage sites to explore. Start with the Red Fort. This landmark built in 1638 has great historical and political significance and therefore cannot be missed. You can visit the fort anytime of the day as it is awe-inspiring all the time.

Humayun’s Tomb can be visited next. This magnificent tomb built in 1572, embodies the grandeur and charm of Mughal architecture perfectly. After visiting 2 historical sites you can break for lunch and restart your journey from Qutab Minar. The Iranian inspired architecture of the Minar, the Persian inscriptions and many other relics in the area is awe-inspiring.

Day 2: Shopping

Delhi is a shopaholic’s paradise. Palika Bazaar, Shankar market, Janpath market and Sarajini nagar market are to name a few. After the shopping, you can head to Agra.

Day 3: Agra

Forts and Tombs

Two days are required to visit the major tourist places of Agra. The exploration of Agra always starts from Agra Fort. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in 1565 and is still as impressive now as it was back then. You can also catch a glimpse of Taj Mahal from Agra Fort. After Agra Fort, you can head to Fatehpur Sikri, but before that; have your lunch because you will not find many eateries near Fatehpur Sikhri.

Fatehpur Sikri is an ancient fortified city, 40km west of Agra. The magnificent city was the short-lived capital of the Mughal Empire during the reign of Emperor Akbar between 1572 and 1585.

Day 4: Taj Mahal

Keep a whole day aside to see this enthralling world wonder. You must stay till evening so that you can enjoy its entire splendor especially when the beautiful building is wonderfully illuminated during the sunset. After taking in this wonderful scene you will still have time to visit one more location in Agra; Itmad-ud-Daulah or you can head to your next destination Jaipur.

Day 5 and 6: Jaipur

In 2 days you can visit all the important attractions of the place. Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort,  Sheesh Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Anokhi Museum and Kanak Vrindavan can be visited according to the time and your convenience. Even if you are not visiting any of these places; just traveling around the city, absorbing its pink magic is exhilarating.
